Category Manager

Reporting to the VP of Strategic Sourcing, the Category Manager oversees the strategic sourcing of one or more categories as part of a newly created team.  They are a data driven leader that can understand category and related industry economics.  They are a strong communicator and influencer responsible for $20M+ in spend.

What you will do

• Has accountability for the sourcing function of one or more sourcing categories
• May create sourcing leadership governance, tools and techniques for sourcing activities
• Participates in formulating and implementing long term category/product strategies including pricing, diversity and contingency plans for owned category
• Works with business owners to optimize the supplier choices
• Develops and implements risk mitigation strategies for category(s)
• Monitors commodity markets and industry issues and communicates concerns or trends that may affect sourced product or service
• Establishes service levels with stakeholders and suppliers for owned category
• Monitors responsible sourcing agreements in regards to contracted service levels, sales, audit, customer satisfaction, spend, etc.
• Develops, monitors, and improves sourcing processes
• Negotiates supplier contracts for owned categories
• Other duties as assigned

What you need to bring

• Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement or related area, or the equivalent experience
• MBA preferred
• CPM preferred
• 7+ years of sourcing experience
