IT Systems Administrator – Saint Paul, MN

We are currently searching for an IT Systems Administrator to join our Saint Paul team. The IT SA is responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software, and networks.  This role also provides training and consultation, and recommends future planning and development of resources.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains company servers
  • Analyze and resolve faults, ranging from a major system crash to a forgotten password
  • Implement, maintain, and monitor network security
  • Ensure network connectivity throughout the company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical
  • Provide individual training and support on request
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software, and resources
  • Manage email, anti-spam, and virus protection on computer systems
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the operations of information systems and EDP
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for EDP and computer systems operations and development
  • Setup user accounts, permissions, and passwords
  • Monitor network usage
  • Assist in planning and implementing future upgrades and undertaking projects when needed
  • Ensure that all IT equipment complies with company standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer science or equivalent experience
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in IT roles
  • Ability to install and administer computer hardware, software, and networks
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge Of:
    • Computer hardware and software systems and programs
    • Computer networks, network administration and network installation
    • Computer troubleshooting
    • Computer viruses and security
    • Email and internet programs
