Excel Graphics Acquired by Vomela Specialty Co.

July 3, 2007

Vomela Specialty Company of Saint Paul, Minnesota, announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Excel Graphics of Whitestown, Indiana. The transaction is scheduled to close on July 18, 2007.

Founded in 1980, Excel is a leading supplier of graphics for truck fleet applications. Excel will continue to serve customers from its facilities in Whitestown, a northwestern suburb of Indianapolis, and Lafayette and Brazil, Indiana.

Vomela Specialty Company, with projected 2007 revenue in excess of $80 million, is one of the largest producers of screen-printed and digitally-printed vinyl graphics in the U.S. Founded in 1947, privately held Vomela is the leading supplier of vinyl graphics to the recreational vehicle industry. Vomela also supplies fleet graphics for commercial vehicles, interior and exterior signage and graphics for retailers and large-format murals for architectural, retailers and public spaces. Additionally, Vomela through its Motorsports Designs affiliate, is the leading supplier of graphics to NASCAR racing teams.

Vomela has acquired seven firms in the last ten years, all related to fleet, commercial or retail graphics. It has three plants in St. Paul, one in Benton Harbor, Michigan, one in southern California, two in North Carolina, several sales and design offices across the country and sales personnel in most major cities in the U.S.

The acquisition of Excel Graphics by Vomela is a natural transition for both companies. Vomela is on a path of planned growth in the imaging industry. Commenting on the agreement, Tom Auth, Vomela’s CEO and owner since 1990 said, “The acquisition of Excel is an important extension of the fleet graphics activities conducted by our Harbor Graphics division in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Bob Lucas and the rest of the Excel organization have built a very nice business. We are pleased to have Excel become a part of our group of businesses. We look forward to further developing the very successful business the Excel organization has built.” Bob Lucas, Excel’s President, said “This combination makes a lot of sense for us and for our customers. The reputation, expertise, and resources Vomela has will greatly enhance our ability to serve our customers. This is a winning situation for all parties.”
