File Requirements

Software Standards
Our standards are based in Adobe Illustrator. We also accept Adobe PDF (preset PDF/X-4:2007), Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Macromedia Freehand, Quark XPress, ArtPro, and Esko PDF.

Layout
Create your document at 100% of final size. If your application does not allow this, setup at 50% or 25%. Also include 0.25 inch bleed (at 100%) on all jobs. This is most important with scanned images.

Fonts
Please include screen and printer fonts with artwork. Wherever possible, convert all text to curves (outlines/paths). Ideally, send one version with text converted to curves and one version with fonts intact for possible editing (if necessary).

Color
Please provide art file untrapped; our prepress department will handle all trapping requirements. Any spot colors must be specified using PANTONE Matching System*. For color-critical jobs, please include a matchprint or a printed sample to match to.

* Color match accuracy will vary depending on color range (gamut) of printing method used.

Resolution/Quality for Images
Please view your art at full print size to ensure proper art quality. Provide images at a minimum of 100 ppi to 200 ppi at 100% size. If this cannot be achieved, or you want further clarification, call your Vomela sales representative.

Output
Use the “collect for output” or similar feature in your software to guarantee all necessary files are sent with the job. Please provide any files created in layers using Photoshop (or similar software) along with artwork in case editing is required.

Online
Vomela’s website has an “Upload Files” link on our homepage. Simply enter the requested information and upload your files. If you need to manage your files on our site, please send an e-mail to online@vomela.com to setup an account with your own username and password.

* IMPORTANT: Enter your sales representative as the Vomela Contact when you upload your files so that your sales representative is notified via email.
